POLAROID: Jesse Vargas

Jesse

Age: 21
Location: Bay Area

  • Favorite item of clothing in my closet: My gray wool trousers from American Apparel because they have a vintage look.  I love vintage!

  • The nickname my friends have for me is: I have always gone by my name, here and there people call me “Jesse James”

  • Favorite pair of shoes are: My favorite Shoes are my “Lunagrand” by Cole Haan, a collaboration between Nike and Cole Haan built for comfort and style.

  • When I wake up in the morning, I always do these three things: I wake up and shower immediately to wake up, eat eggs and meal prep for the day/week.

  • If I could pick two people to have dinner with, dead or alive, they would be: Derek Jeter because it’s intriguing to me how private he is with his life. He is the ideal athlete, and always a class act.  The other would be Leonardo Dicaprio because he is a very talented actor, and he has had a starting role in a lot of my favorite movies.

  • My favorite thing to do on a Friday night is: I usually like going out and catching up with friends and family.

  • The best compliment I’ve ever received was: When I was playing high school baseball my coach used me as an example of not being the best, but being one the hardest workers he’d ever met.

  • I’m addicted to: Starbucks Iced Caramel Macchiato

  • My most embarrassing moment is: When my Dad tells everyone I used to say I wanted to be a firefighter to wash houses, and not to put out the fires.

  • The most important lesson in life I’ve learned is: I’ve learned that my word as a man is more important than ever, committing to obligations and people and going through with it.

  • My favorite thing about my job is: Interacting with residents, and making sure they feel at home .

  • The best gift I’ve ever received was: The everyday gift that my parents are, the hard working and supportive parents that they are.  Always leading by example.

  • My favorite store is: I would have to say Cole Haan, shoes have always seemed to be my therapy.
